Vessel: Princess V39
Engines: Twin Volvo Penta D6-300
Scope of Work: Fault diagnostics, cooling system repairs, full engine and gearbox service, vessel relocation
A client based at Brighton Marina requested assistance after their Princess V39 began displaying engine fault codes. Ocean Marine Services travelled to Brighton to investigate and, during inspection, found that the problem was more extensive than first reported. Both heat exchangers and charge air cooler end caps were leaking, an issue that could have led to serious performance and reliability problems if not resolved.
Given the scale of the required repairs and the need for specialist facilities, arrangements were made to relocate the vessel to Chichester for full servicing and repair work.
The case presented multiple challenges. In addition to resolving the initial fault codes, the leaking heat exchangers and charge air cooler end caps needed urgent attention. The inspection and diagnosis had to be carried out on-site at Brighton Marina, which required efficient communication with the client and effective planning. The relocation of the vessel from Brighton to Chichester also had to be managed safely. Finally, with the vessel already in our care, it provided the ideal opportunity to complete a full service of both engines and gearboxes to ensure long-term reliability.
The Princess V39 was returned to the client in excellent running condition, with both engines and gearboxes fully serviced and the cooling system leak-free. Performance and reliability were restored to manufacturer standards, giving the vessel a clean bill of health. The client was so satisfied with the quality of service that they chose to move their berth permanently to Chichester, ensuring that Ocean Marine Services now provide ongoing maintenance and care for the boat.
