Project Overview

Ocean Marine Services completed a major Volvo Penta D4 engine rebuild on a RIB based at Chichester Marinafollowing a catastrophic engine failure.

The failure resulted in a connecting rod (con rod) exiting through the engine block, leaving the engine completely inoperable and requiring specialist repair.

The Challenge

The engine suffered a severe internal failure, where a connecting rod breached the engine block — one of the most serious forms of mechanical damage.
