Scope of Work: Battery charging fault diagnosis, charger replacement and upgraded monitoring system installation
The owner of a Grandezza powerboat approached Ocean Marine Services after repeated issues with the onboard batteries, which were failing to hold charge. A reliable electrical system is essential for safety and onboard comfort, so the task was to identify the cause of the problem and provide a long-term solution that would restore confidence and reliability.
The main difficulty was that the fault was intermittent, with the batteries sometimes appearing to charge correctly, which made diagnosis more complex. Without a functioning charging system, there was also the risk of complete electrical failure when operating away from shore power. In addition, the owner requested a modern monitoring solution to provide greater visibility over battery health and prevent similar issues from occurring in the future.
